I was just curious how much total shipping is to buy a betta from thailand. I was just on aquabid thinking hey $25 that's not bad I could do that. But then I remembered that domestic shipping is abou 30-35. So how much do you end up paying when purchasing from out of the country? And what exactly is a transhipper and what do they do?

I have never bought from Asia, But i have friends who have. For the fish to get from Thailand to the states dont cost much, only about 5-8 US dollars. Then from Thailand, they get sent to the Transhipper. The transhipper Is the first place the fish gets sent to as they are always in touch with the Thai breeders. Now, here is where the money comes in. Then you have to pay express shipping from the transhipper to your door. That is the pricey part of it. Usually they wont ship priority, but don't take my word on it. I hope i helped.

Your best bet would be on the Aquabid listings they usually supply the transhippers and an email, contact one and they will be able to send you more information!
