SRC alreated me to a really nice pair of Plakats at Aquabid. A pair of great looking Fighter Plakats at $15!!! I was thinking since we are all compulsive Betta buyers, might as well share great deals that we find.

Rules:

1. It should be a great deal. Finding a great looking $60 starting bid fish is not a great deal IMHO.

2. If you plan to bid on him, I would not post it here

3. Post a pic and link to the auction.

I ain't posting the link that SRC gave me, since if they ship to the Philippines, those babies are MINE.

That is what I do too. I found some nice betta at aquabid and post it here. As for me, I am done bidding for bettas (5 more coming from thailand, hahaha) for right now but if something attracts me down the road, I won't tell you guys or post it until I got it. LOL Fair??? hehehehe :p

Got a reply really fast :hyper: but it read:

Sorry I don't have a transhipper there.

:-(

:byebye:

Here is the pic:

Sorrel. i think more than that. LOL Add $5.00 each for shipping from thailand, .60 cents import tax, 2.00 handling, 5.00 for the box, 2.00 heatpack, express at less $20.00. :D

Can they just ship to Philipine straight from Thailand to you? I think philipine is ok to import betta right?

I thought you can get fighting plakat in philipine right? They are very common, right?

While Thailand and the Philippines are close together, shipping is via EMS $20-25 (but cost less if you get more than one fish), $3 for the permit to import, add 10% to the fish price for VAT and pray they don't asses customs duties (if you import several fish they will).

That's why I said and average of 30 ;)

Express shipping is rarely over $20 for a single fish, the price quoted by the transhipper is generally a total of shipping and their personal handling fees, which would include boxes and heat packs

Yes. I have bought some bettas from thailand that they are not good at all. I have to gulp it since I bid on it. I learned my lesson well and I will not bit on those breeders anymore no matter how cheap they are. I have to think about it if they are under $20.00 bucks per betta. I will ask many questions to the seller before bid on it. Make sure you check for their raputation. :sly:

lol the only fish I've seen go for under $20 on AB (regarding bettas) are the girlies. All of mine off there have ended up being well over $20 each...I always try to get 3 ...makes shipping more worthwhile IMO.

Ral...you should contact Linda Olsen and see if she knows anyone who would trans-ship to you. Her being a transshipper..I bet she would be able to steer you in teh right direction  .

ral, just curious, where did you get your plakats? Haven't seen too many of them here in the RP.

Also, do you know our customs policy and permits re: EMS? I've been thinking of importing for the longest time, but shipping has been a big worry for me.

I got my Plakats from Angel Ampin. Unfortunately he did not have many. He still has a nice marble one from Stingrays at Php1500 (approx $28) and a Metallic one from Kelson Php2000 (Approx. $20). There only seem to be four of us interested in buying Plakats.

The ones I got we part of a bulk shipment of "assorted" bettas from Thailand so they only cost Php400. Medium to large 2"-2.7" monsters :D
I found a small one (Winston) in Pet Republic in Las Pinas for P50.

SMS me at 0920 9201039 and I can get you into contact with Angel.
