Basically as the title says, just got myself a second hand Aqua Pro 4 external filter, looks the bee's knee's and is all clean with all equipment anyone had one of these and any reviews or opinions

thanks
paul

i have one bought from plantedbox.com its really good got self prime aswell. Its a bit noisy but before that i had a fluval internal on a smaller tank and that was 100% silent. A friend of mine has one of the smaller aqua pros and thats pretty quiet. And they are much much cheaper than any other equivalent external.

So if its a bedroom tank and you really really need complete silence to sleep it may not be the right filter for you but other than that its fine

hope it helps

I have 3 of these running, good filter, easy to clean, the only problem I have found with them is the clips that hold the top on are easy to ping off, then generally tend to fall off each time you clean the filter. They are a little noisier than other filters I have had.

yeah well thanks guys, didnt get instructions so how do you prime it exactly?

got it second hand so would love to know as its just sitting there lol thanks

Prime, forgot that bit thats the biggest downfall with them, there is no instant prime the only way to get them going is to suck on the outlet pipe. Best get yourself another length of the clear pipe, attatch it to the outlet section (the curvy bit where the spray bar would go) and suck, at least with the clear pipe you can see it comming before you get a mouthfull, then just swtich on.
