So I have a problem. I let my platy deliver her babies as usual. Call me a bad grandmother to them, but I usually count on a lot of them dying off, and I keep a few. Well, this time, all 50 seem to be living (which is completely new to me), so I had planned on donating them to the lfs..but they will only take them as feeder fish for personal use. Ok, I may be ignorant here, but I didn't know it was common to use them as feeder fish! There is NO way I want to give them away to be eaten alive, I'm becoming quite attached but also realize that there is no way I will be able to keep them all. Will someone PLEASE take these fish off my hands! They are only a few days old at this point, but are growing even faster than the usual (it's like a sweet curse or something)! I believe they were born Monday night, and it's already getting pretty crouded in that little breeding net. If someone will pay the shipping (or maybe I can try to help out with that, depending on how much it is), then you can take them for free. Please, PLEASE PLEASE!!! They aren't ready to be given away yet, but after a few weeks they will be. And also, if you pay shipping for 1, I will send several (that's what I'm hoping someone will want), in one package! The catch is that you have to promise they won't be feeder fish!

I'm interested can you tell me what shipping would be to send them to GA? Edited to add: they would be pets, not feeder fish.

I believe you! Anyone with the sn Guppylvr, wouldn't feed platies to anyone. Thanks for the responce, hop you got my PM! :D :D

I would take them but I'm Canada and my tank is almost overstocked :(
You should try posting in the buy/sell/swap section of the forum!

I LOVE Canada! We went there on our honeymoon. So pretty!

Thanks for the tip, I will try it there.

Guppy~ I did get your PM, thanks for the reminder, I just forgot to respond, sorry! The idea of going into the fishstore and th elittle bags sounds great, but I wonder how far it will get them with the amount of air in the bag. Actually, I think an employee once told me the air would only last about an hour or so..hmm. I will google it, brb!

OK well I just looked it up and from what I've read, the best way to ship is when they are still babies (works to our advantage here) and I will need to ship them in a breather bag with a little water and tons of air, overnight. Unless i read other wise, I'll do this (they said the pet shops should help you with this for free) and put the bag in a box full of blocks of styrofoam so they don't get knocked around. It goes into more details about double bagging and all that. Sound slike a good plan to me. I need to get going but we can talk about more details later (guess I should have PMed you with all this haha). Later :D

Sounds great! Just pm me when you need my info and with the more details :)
