Hum.... so lots of travel for items

yeah, it's pretty common for shippers to tell you not to worry about it when you offer to refund the refund. But it's nice to try.

This reminds me of 20+ years ago when I bought a discounted floor model microwave/"convection" oven to try out & paid for delivery, removal & installation. Then somehow it was damaged. They said they ship a brand new 1 from another store...in another week. That didn't happen, so they refunded delivery, installation, disposal of the old 1 & another discount on my order. I felt no guilt, it was their fault & I had no microwave for almost 3 weeks.

My wife ordered a piece of furniture from Amazon, that I assembled over the weekend. While doing so, I discovered a problem with one of the components. My wife called to ask for a replacement part, but they refunded her instead. Evidently, it's cheaper for these companies to simply give people their money back, than to mess with a return or replacement parts.
Upon closer examination, I discovered that the issue with the part was actually inconsequential. I told my wife to call back and cancel the refund. Not sure if she did that, though.
