Seen this in a lfs near where I work and was wondering if it is any good or not.

Thanks

its just a trace element, so it'll be the same as every other trace on the market. It doesn't contain N and P. It's not very good value for money either. If you wanted pre mixed trace i'd go for something like this

http://www.aquaessentials.co.uk/seachem-flourish-250ml-p-299.html

this is best value for money pre mixed trace.

that looks a lot beter product, 5ml for 250liters, compared to the 10ml for 50liters on the interpet one, it would last my 125 liter tank ages, thanks a lot for the info. I will certinly be buying this when I get home.

why not look into dosing dry ferts

there alot cheaper as most of the products like flourish are diluted in water.

have a look on here

I'd rather have something that is ready made and ready to go, less hassle for me.

Also wha root tabs would you recomend?

whatever you choose to go with, get it from the internet. I've found that almost all 'dry' goods sold by LFS are more expensive than equivalents found online.

I just purchased TNC from eBay.....seems very reasonably priced to me.

The TNC root plugs are great value for money. They also contain N and P, which is a winner as it adds a little more to a inert substrate. The N and P will then leech into the water column ensuring you get enough.

Thank you very much for all your help, hopefully I can save my plants lol.

whats wrong with them? get some pics up and we could help you with the deficiencies.

what is the lighting (in watts) on your tank?

I'll get some pics on soon as I can. Baisicly, I had elodea, valis, cabomba and weeping moss about 2 weeks ago and now they have started goin brown. Iv bin using somthing called green low which was sugested on here but it hasn't done anything for them. The lights are t8s I think, ones you get with a fluval 125 tank and they on for 7 hours.

If you are dosing correctly like i said then there is no reason that your plants should be going brown... Especially as they're all low demanding plants that are easy to get along with. The Green Low product will be pretty much the same as any other basic fertiliser you buy. (unless it's a complete fert like TPN+)

As mentioned, get some pics up and we should be able to help you out. It may simply be that you're not dosing enough. You have to adjust it to what you think. I am now dosing roughly 8ml a day which has increased from around 2.8ml.

Here's the picturs.

Remove the Vallis and Elodea. Remove any brown/yellow/see through leaves from the Vallis and replant. Prune the Elodea to the bottom of the greenery and replant. The moss isn't going brown, it looks like detritus from your tank that has got caught up in it. Mine gets it when i do filter maintenance as it blasts any loose mulm out into the water. The moss will grow through it. :good:

well the elodea is going from the root up, so have i got to get rid of all the lower half and keep the tips? and then baisicly cut off the top half of the valis? as that is going from the tips down

Also, no ferts will make a noticeabledifference straight away, you're looking at a month before you start to see rapid growth. Stick at 4ml a day but keep your eyes on any algae issues and don't forget your 50% weekly water change.

Your Vallis will look pretty naked when you have trimmed it, but it does come good eventually, mine is just starting to regenerate after a mass pruning.

Elodea - Yes.

Vallis - No.

Don't cut the tips from the Vallis as it will stop it growing. Remove the plants, and remove the see through yellowie coloured leaves and leave the greener more healthy leaves at the base. Also remove any damaged leaves as they won't recover. It's took me nearly 18 months to get my tank how i want it. And about 4 months to get it to the stage it is now which i would consider fully planted.
