Like i said, they will probably still be adjusting to your water conditions so won't be at full health to flourish. Once they have started to reproduce leaves then you will be laughing. The newer leaves on the Vallis should be fine. They will look naked when you trim them up, but it's the only way as decaying plant matter will lead to water quality issues as well as algae issues.

Remove the elastic bands and trim to the base of the greenest part then replant them as they are. No need to tie them together with anything as this will restrict the roots.
