Any Suggestions? Added Pics!

dont know what to do next with my 240 litre community set up so was hoping for any suggestions. suggestions about anything will be welcomed. the stocking i have at the moment is as follows:
15 rummy nose tetras
6 congo tetras
2 of each corys (albino, bandit and sterbai)
2 german blue rams
1 sailfin plec

it has some java fern attached to bog wood and some moss balls, a sand substrate and is over filtered with an external and large internal.

You could put some wild bettas in there, they are peaceful and will live in a community tank. They are lovely to look at too;

How about boosting each Cory group to five, plus adding a top dwelling fish (Halfbeaks; Hatchetfish; Pencilfish; African Butterfly Fish; Clown Killifish or perhaps Golden Wonder; Forktail Rainbowfish)?

wont 15 corys be too much. dont want to be overstocked. got a fluval 305 external filter and a fluval 3plus internal filter.

If your 240L tank is a standard rectangle then 15 cories is absolutely fine with room for more!

I agree a shoal of hatchet fish would look good.You could also try upside down catfish.

Out of curiosity, I've just entered your setup into Aqadvisor, on the presumption that is a Roma 240 tank with a Fluval 305 filter (don't know what your other filter is)...

Now I know its only an algorythm and database which is only as accurate as the parameters given to the calculator to work with, but it has serious concerns over

• The Sailfin outgrowing the tank
• The Cory schooling numbers (already talked about earlier in thread)
• A "war" breaking out at the bottom of the tank due to overcrowding, which the Corys are going to lose every time and presumeably the Sailfin giving the Rams grief as it gets older
• A potential filtering crisis, depending upon what your second filter is and whether I was right that one of them was a Fluval 305

So it looks like you need some input from someone with personal experience of this setup, as I would now be considering a bigger tank or moving the Sailfin on, before getting good security numbers for the Cory and thinking about adding a top-dweller...

ive had no trouble so far and the plec is 9-10 inches. he doesnt bother any other fish even when i had another smaller plec. the other filter is a fluval 3+ which is meant for max 150l set ups. as for cory numbers id like to increase them but not to massive levels. it seems i am understocked at the moment imo. i do weekly 30-40% water changes and the tank is mature at over 2 years.

You are understocked at the current time but you will be overstocked when the plec grows more.

A sailfin normally reach 18-24" and will require a minimum of a 6ft tank so you may be better re-homing it if you dont have the capacity to increase to that tank size, its much easier to rehome the plec at its current size than it will be once it hits 18"

like said i would sell the pelc and get a pair of smaller ones like bns or clowns. German blue rams also need higher temps so i would go for a type of apisto
something like
10 hatchets
20 rummy nose tetra
6 of each corys
pair bns or clown plec
trio of apisto
that looks fine to me.

I've had a few different plants but with little success. Could u reccomend any that require low maintenance and no co2 input.

As for Mr plec, he will b fine till I have my custom made tank made for my living room. That will be at least 6 foot and should suit him till his retirement.

I keep it at 25.5c and my rams seem fine in there.

Ambulia/Limnophila Sessiliflora i have this growing in my tank,low maintenance and grows well
