I don't know if I'm in the right spot for this, so sorry if I'm not!

I've had this 5 gallon tank setup like this for a while now, and I'm kind of sick of it. I had a Betta in here and neon tetras, the neons moves out into a bigger tank and I want to rescape this tank. Right know there are some ghost shrimp and snails in there, and some neos. I saw a Betta at my LFS that I really liked, so when I go there in a couple weeks I might get her for this tank.
The plants that are in here:
3 java fern
1 Amazon sword ( attached picture of it, there are tons of leaves!)
1 anubias (same as Amazon sword, attached picture)
Some sort of small plant, not a stem plant but kind of looks like a crypt of some sort
Rotala
Moss on wood
Dwarf hairgrass
So I have a lot of plants, I have to add more sand in since there is not a lot in there, and I don't like the back of the plants. It looks to symmetrical. I also have extra stem plants I can use.

The wood in there is like 2 logs crossed over each other, and in there is the anubias.

I really don't know what to do with it, I might get some sereiu stone (yep I spelled that wrong) or river rocks but I don't know how that would arrange. The only thing is I need is things to be not sharp in case I get a Betta.

Suggest needed and appreciated! Thanks guys!

And excuse the tank being cloudy, I just caught a bunch of shrimp and that stirred up the substrate I haven't gravel vacced in a while.

For me it’s always good to start with an idea. It’s hard to give suggestions to you because I don’t really know what you would like so I would search up some 5 gallon aqua scapes online that you like and take some ideas from that.

This is a website with some ideas for a small tank and just a random picture from online that is a cool idea. Hope this helps I know it isn’t really what you were looking for but it might help a little at least.

I really like that tank! I've never been the biggest fan of the iwugami type, it's beautiful but I like more of a messy, thick jungle scape, like the picture.

I forgot to mention that I don't want to buy more plants and wood, only rocks if you guys think it would elevate the future scape. But a jungle scape is my type of tank.

I think you should have a chunk of wood (if you insist, rock could work too, but it doesn't really fit with what you're doing here, I don't think) in the left rear corner. To visually balance the one on the right which is fine as is. This would also xpand the space visually. You wouldn't need to move any plants I don't think, but you can see.

Small update: I re did the tank about a week ago or so and got a peice of cholla wood and some petrified wood for the back. I really like how it turned out! Unfortunately it went into sort of a mini cycle at the biggining but I added some Tetra SafeStart and it's all good now. I have a beautiful Betta in there named Luna and she really likes exploring through the plants! The ghosts shrimp live the cholla wood too. Thank for all the help.
