the waterin my 4ft tank is very cloudy.the tank has been set up and running 18month.the water stats are
ammonia-o
nitrite-0
nitrate-20 (it comes out the tap at this)

we always use dechlorinator and feed mainly frozen food.
fish in it are
5 tiger barbs
1 bristlenose
4 gourami
4 red eye tetra
5 wcmm
and 2 corys.

any ideas?been like it about 10 days.ive done a 40%water change today.should I do more and keep it small and regular water changes?

Have you added any meds lately, check filter might want a clean, and change filter floss, what filter is it, how many gallons does it turn over an hour.

the filter is a rena filstar xp3.no meds added except aquasafe.I believe it filters 296gallons per hour and the tank is 96 gallon.

That looks fine, do you over feed as that can cause a cloudy tank like waterboy asked.

one cube of frozen food a day.once or twice a week some cory pellets and cucumber once a week.Weve done nothing to the tank out of the ordinary and never had any problems before.the same tap water is in my big tank and that isnt cloudy.the fish seemed ok until today when I found 2 lost babies :(

The dead babies could of clouded it up then.

How does the tank smell normal or awful.

do you think its something that will settle with water changes?

tank smells normal, its just cloudy. If you look from the front it looks a bit cloudy but if you look from the side you cant see from one end to the other

Do you use carbon, if so how long has it been in the tank.I would put some fresh filter floss in the tank.

in the filter we have ppi foam, micro filtration pad and ceramic rings.what is the filter floss for?wouldnt it do the same as a filter pad?

I would just do some water changes and increase aeration for now.
