any ideas to cause of death? Pregnant female guppy was found with a red belly on the side it was lying on.

tank parameters are normal except for low KH: 40 ppm
*Have not tested for ammonia, but I don't think that's the issue.*

The day before she died, the only male guppy in my tank also passed away. There were no visible clues so I automatically assumed old age as the cause.

There are only 2 other female guppies, 1 guppy fry in a breeding box, and 1 Cory catfish.

All the other fish are OK ?. I think it may just be old age. The dark lines around the scales indicate to me that it is a mature fish.

It is not unusual to loose a pregnant fish, it puts a lot of stress on their bodies and the more times they have fry the more stress they have to deal with. Over the years I have lost several pregnant fish and the older they get the more chance of death. Sorry about your fish
