Any Benefit To Running 2 Filters On A Nano?

Hi All,

I have a 17L planted nano running at the moment, filtered by an Eheim Liberty 100, and have just recieved a Mignon 60 gen2 HOB which I intended to keep as a spare.

However, i generally prefer to 'over filter' where possible, but wonder if this would work on this scale? would 2 Hob filters be worth it (I was going to fill one with ceramic media and sponge - and keep the other for just the sponge), or would it be a waste of time/energy?

Your thoughts are much appreciated!

I'm always a fan for more filtration, I've got a 660 lph filter on my 64L, if that says anything lol.

Personally, I think you run the risk of having more filter than actual tank, and as such, it might actually look worse in terms of decoration.

For a tank of that size, you won't really be needing too much filtration, the sponges will pretty much take care of any waste and provide more than ample living sites for bacteria.

I'd say just keep it as a spare.
