the plants are definitely responding to it being spring, even though this coffeefola has no light from any window, a couple new leaves again this week… the other anubias in the basement tanks are only holding their own, but the hoyas are “springing” into action as well… over all this coffeefola has bushed out nicely, as a centerpiece plant potted in it’s stump pot..

I love anubias. But it has been almost 20 years since I have bought a new species. I do not even remember what species many of mine are. but may of them have grown to the surface of even my deeper tanks. When they do, I usually chop off the top 1/3 to 1/2 half and sell it. When I did my last vendor room in 2003 I had a number of huge anubias for sale.Mine were the largest sold in the vendor room even included by a couple of plant vendors.

Here is a pic of my 150 before it leaked and got replaced with a 125. All of the plants in the 150 are anubias.

Here is a pic of my in-wall 75. it has a few anubias as well.

Feel free to ID the species if you can because I not longer can do so except for the coffefolia. And of course the above plants just got bigger with time.

I cannot tell you why, but live plants thrive in my tanks. For almost 10 years I had a planted 50 which had pressurized CO2. I eventually gave it up as it was too much work. The plants grew so fast I was spending more time on that tank than on any 3 other tanks which were bigger and also were planted.

not a good picture but I have a cool water root tank, that has a few fish, but is highly shaded by vines, and is full of roots… the other day I spotted this anubias nana, that I placed here a year or more ago, after which the vines took over the tank… it seems to be thriving with no help from me… all the green in this picture is nana
