Another Id Questions On My Mystery Mbuna

but then i found this: http/www.thetropicaltank.co.uk/Fishindx/estherae.htm
mine looks a lot like the male form. mine also has fairly large egg spots as this site says the male does.

so is there anyway to tell the difference between these 2 mbuna?

The variety of Estherae nearly always found in aquarium shops have the males and females both the orange color, so the odds are that it's the Cobalt.

thanks. it was sold to me as a colbalt blue but it wasnt labled with a scientific name so ive been trying to id it since.

hi fish keeper. could you post a picture of your fish, I am having the same problem in identifying some of my fish which are almost exactly the same as the one in your 1st link, some suggestions like metriclima and greshaki have been made but I am not 100% sure. have compared the cichlid in the 1st link to some other pictures of pseudeatropheaus cobalt blue and I dont think the colouring is ths same, which would mean that the cichlid in the picture isn't what it claims to be?? plus, on the other pictures of the cobalt blues the stripes are not showing. cant these fish be a damned nightmare. cheers mate.

PS, if theres anyone in or near merseyside *UK* who would like some of these cichlids + some red zebras, give me a shout. have too many and want to make space for other types. cheers
