Angels, Discus And Kissers In An Outside Pond....

Since I've now stripped my display tank, (for repairs) I've moved the residents to a 2000l outside pond. These include Angels, Discus, Kissers, Spanner Barbs, Rosy Barbs, Serpae, Flame tets and My 23cm Pleco..... They all look so cheerful outside, I may even consider leaving them there.....

Even the Angels and Kissers have suddenly turned into " Schooling" fish, and circles the circumference of the (circular) pond 100's of times during the day.... All the Barbs & tetras seem to be constantly spawning and the Pleco has lots of tunnels, but also swims around in broad daylight....

It'll be a sin to put them back in their tank when it is repaired.

Wow, what sort of outside temperature you looking at down there Lud? It seems wierd to me that tropical fish could ever be kept outside. My mind stereotypes pond fish to goldies and Koi!

I woke up to a nice -6 degree's C today.

I'll do that Seff..... Dark already in SA, but tomorrow... (although it will be top down, (so cannot really see the fish) but I'll see what photos I can produce.

What temperature is your water Ludwig, that you can even keep discus in there? Here in Mexicio I can keep fish outside in the summer, but currently we are around 10 - 15 degrees at night and that is too cold for most fish.

Daytime temps around 33 to 42, and night temps about 22.....

Don't know much about my camera settings, but seems a little over exposed..... but here are a few top down photos....

No Biffs... in winter times, I put a 4kw geyser element in the circulating drum (on a timer switch) and I manage to keep the water at around 22 to 26 at (astronomical) electric bills, but it works.....

I actually find that I watch them more often now (being so happy) as when they were in their display tank.....
