Saw a beautiful pair today. Its the first time i've really thought about having some.
Well my rio 180 will finally be ready to add fish to this weekend. First in will be my pair of Kribs, and then maybe the angels if there compatible?!?!

Yep!!... Mines' been sharing for more than 3 years, and they do not even notice each other in passing... no probs.

They sometimes work out from what I have heard but some people have pretty nasty kribs so might be down to individuals but if Ludwigs has worked for 3 years I would say thats pretty solid credentials for them

Which fish shop is it Im due to get some food tomorrow and fancy a nosy haha!

Just to add, i have three angels in a Rio 180, the depth is adequate for them So long as they don't have massivly obstructed swimming space in the way of tangled wood everywhere. Mine are happy and healthy, even my old timer angel

Wills. Its a tiny garden centre outside of hedon called smiths nursery. Its not a brilliant shop apart from the 6 foot tank with the angels. He's also got a few awesome plecs (GN, Royal and Vampire). Beautiful

Its not been going for long, and i think hes struggling abit from looking at his stock, but his big tank is worth a look. If you go down hedon bypass, just before you get to thorngumbald, its on your right.

Just been for a nosy, good find though I reckon badger! Like you say its obvious he is just setting up but he has some really really nice fish in there - the show tank is okay with the plecs and the knives etc but for a show tank could look a bit better inside the tank but it is for sale I guess...

But no I was quite impressed and I hope they carry on with it and it kicks off and gets into a good shop, quite surprised to see stuff like blue botias and chilli rasboras and I have to admit the gold severums he has in are the best I have seen for a long long time, all fin perfect all good shapes and one of the males holy bejebus I nearly bought him just amazing on the left top row around the middle. But main thing for me was nice to see a shop that caters for small fish I think chilli rasboas are one of the most important fish in the hobby for that reason and he had them in abundance where as very few places have them and they were cheap! 10 for £6 they are about £3 each at MA in Beverley!!

One word of warnings on the angels though, he had a powercut while I was there and was sorting it out this morning but the tanks had been off all night so not sure how it will effect the fish at the moment

One other comment to be made about the center on the whole, the birds - they were in a bit of a mess some of them looked to be quite ill but there were two people cleaning them out and the pens did look clean and well fed etc so I would give them the benefit of the doubt at the moment but and Im not exagerating it was a bit of an RSPCA matter IMO but like I say they did look to be caring for them quite well and they could have come in like that and might nurse them back to health.

Yeah the show tank was looking a lot better 2 or 3 weeks ago. He never did a great job of the decor but its the plecs which attract me to the tank.

My friend bought some of the rasboras yesterday. Lovely little fish. About the sevs, I don't know too much about them, but they've been in them tanks for quite some time. Look abit cooped up.

Thanks for that wills. Will keep an eye on how the angels are doing. I've know him for a few years so hopefully he wouldn't sell me an ill fish.

Never really noticed anything about the birds other than that sacred ibis (which is awesome). Are you talking about the canaries and stuff or the chickens and ducks? Did you say anything to them? I can mention it to him and hope he doesn't take offence.

Also, what did you think about the angels? I've read about the different kinds but can't I'd them.

The birds were some chickens over in the corner and also some of the fancy chickens as well they had loads and loads of feathers missing that ibis is awsome though! I want some pet ducks now though

I am finding it very hard not to get one of those sevs just stunning they really were as far as the tanks they were in not ideal but quite typical of shop tanks really. I mean lets face it if they were in MA or ings lane they would go in a weekend esp at that price (half of an equivilent fish that was at MA about 2 weeks ago)

Angels were quite nice a good size but nothing amazing for me but they were nice I really want some of the blue strains that have come now you can get one of the natural colour looking ones but a bit more white with a neon blue tint which is just astounding I would 90% of the time say there is no fish that has been line bred that beats the wild one but these are the exception along with gold and super red sevs but they are about level pegging with the wild ones for me...

But yeah those there all were veil tails and 3 were smokey blacks and 1 was a pearscale half black (i think not sure if all 3 were smokeys or not)

Went back again today haha not come home empty handed either but one more heads up on this place, for big fish they use the strangest bagging method I have ever seen and I was not that happy about it they kind of had a big roll of plastic that opened to a tube, then they tied an elastic band around both ends so it stayed sealed but it let loads of air and its just an utterly stupid way to do it. If I go back it will be a case of taking my own bags. - oh and I had an other look at the angels - one half black, one black smokey and two are koi angels but with a lot of black.

I think it was the half black and the smokey that caught my eye.

Been to look at them again today and one of them has a bit of damage on his tail fin. Is this repairable?
