Angel Problem - *update* Fin Rot, Please Help

I've been recommended it by a couple of people on another board who had similar problems with angels. TBH I wasn't really getting anywhere on here without a vet on call (our vet doesn't treat fish and the med you advised isn't available online other than where you linked to which was out of stock), and I'm just trying to follow advice to get them better. I can't do right for doing wrong, can I?

Good luck, anyway.

Hi KathyM,

So sorry to hear about your Angel's. I'm having a similar problem at the moment with my female Angel.

You might be better off using Waterlife's Myxazin if you can get hold of it http://www.waterlife.co.uk/waterlife/myxazin.htm as it's more for finrot (believe Protozin is more aimed at Whitespot etc). I started using Myxazin yesterday on my Angel, so finger's crossed it'll help her.

Know how you're feeling - I don't know if I'm coming or going/what to do for the best.

All the best with your guys - keep us posted.

Kim :(

Thanks Kim - I'll send the OH out for that tomorrow, but we're going to give salt a go too (in low dose). I'll keep everything crossed for yours too, and please keep me posted as to how she goes!

Will do, thanks :)

You've already helped me - duh, didn't think about adding salt (you'd think I'd know/remember this by now!)

Kim x

LOl well we were holding off as a last ditch effort, because we have the plants and cories. But anything's worth a shot now and I've read 1% won't harm the plants or cories, and will support their recovery even if it doesn't cure them at that percentage.

I know some people would think it'd be wiser to euthanise and buy new ones in a while, but I'm really attached to the fish, just like my other pets and I want to see if I can get them through this.

Best of luck with your girl, we'll be rooting for her!

Sorry bless him R.I.P.

I've managed to take some pics of the angels - please don't be shocked by the fins because I'm actually really pleased at how much perkier they seem today. They're still eating really well, and don't look as slimey today as yesterday. They've been treated with Protozin and salt.

This is Beep

This is Marilyn

And this is Neo

Neo has the worst condition fins - he's missing most of his tail fin now, but surprisingly he's the one that seems the happiest and healthiest (and he's the biggest). Marilyn is the one that is smallest, and she is the one with the pink/red outline, but again she's really perky and feeding well. Beep's been the middling one all the way through and yet is perkier today too.

Know nothing about angels, do they normally have pinky gills, lovely looking angels though.

God i will have to learn my fish, handsome little angels.
Can i zip zippy zip.

Oh, so sorry you lost SK

...but really glad the other 3 seem to be perking up
