Thats great So are you abandoning the whole old tank or simply wanting two tanks?

If your are moving all the fish to the bigger tank you could probably get away with putting the old filter in the new tank with a new filter and do a small fish in cycle.

If you plan to just get a seperate tank, the best thing you can do is get mature media from your old filter and put it in your new filter, adding 5ppm of ammonia that day and wait for it to drop to 0 is the first stage. You'd have to double check how much media you can take out of the old filter but I think its around one third.

Once you've got your method sorted, make a log of your progress in the new tank section and i'll be sure to read it!

yes im moving all my fish into it and my dad is having the smaller tank so im just going to start a new cycle with some mature media in and il sort a log out and some pics ,hopefully there should be no hiccups along the way fingers crossed !
