if your filter is mature and you are changing around 25% water in your weekly changes, then the 0.5ppm reading should not cause you any problems.

Ditto above, don't worry about it if your filter is mature. For emergencies (if you ever need to do a 100% waterchange), you can keep/use a dechlorinator which will remove ammonia.
