We had bought a lot of other small algae eating shrimp because they were so colorful; Amanos always looked so drab in the pictures. Then, a friend offered to sell us some so we got about 10, we put 2 in each dwarfpuffer tank (and they've since disappeared but may still be in there--it's heavily planated). The others we put in their own species tank. Now one of the females is carrying eggs and another was emitting hormones last night driving the boys nutso so I expect to see another berried female soon. Their coloring is very subtle but they sure are NOT drab, and they are fascinating to watch--some come right up to the side of the tank when I press my finger there.
