heyaa,

i am currently waiting on getting two blue rams for my 48ltr tank.

i am all ready for them, except from the fact that i rang up one of my pet stores today and they only sell bolivian rams. i have reserched and they grow 4 inches max. blue rams grow 3 inches max. would i be able to push in another inch, it says only the males grow to 4 inches, the females are smaller.

or am i just pushing it? :dunno:

thanks x

Does it really matter? Would you take our advice anyway? You were told that 2 goldfish in a 38L was too much but chose to ignore the advice. Really, you should get 12 of them...

Seriously, a 48L is not big enough for even one ram German or otherwise IMO.

I agree, a 48L tank is not large enough for rams, blue or bolivian.

Actually, nosoup4you, thats a very sad remark from you, as i changed my whole stock in MY tank as i was badly over stocked and got advise of here and got my stock sorted out. so i think you need to get your facts right before you judge people! its only the case that my sister is far too little to have her goldfish took of her, she'd get upset and i dont want her to get like that. she's just older than a toddle and had them fish most of her life! i cant just take them away from her, if they were my goldies id get it sorted but their not!

MY fish are suitable for my tank and i have been told from someone in this forum that i can have 2 blue rams in, but nothing else. i havent just decided to get them wether you lot like it or not. iv seeked advice, and i haent been directly told that i shouldnt have them untill now...2 weeks later.

sorry but my fish WILL get sorted out and i will listen when it comes to my fish. im in no position to take away my little sisters fish wich she has had most of her life just because you say they are not right. i know they arnt. but we got her those fish before i had any idea that she was really overstocked!

im seeking advice and thanks for your help, im not sure i aprove of your smart remarks though.

so ill not go for rams then since some of you say no. :/

i was told either rams or i think max of 3 gouramis it was, and about 5 pygmy cory's :dunno:

that ok with you? :/

Sorry but anyone that says that a 12G is ok for a pair of rams doesn't know what they are talking about and has most likely has never kept them

Didn't ask for your approval, but that's okay. I came across this thread while I was still fuming from reading your other thread. Sorry if I was rude but it seemed that the other member's tactful responses in the goldfish thread were ignored and your sister's goldies continue to suffer. Please, put them in your grandfather's pond they are surely large enough to survive if you've had them all of these years. You mention in the other thread that you fear that they may be eaten. If they are as old as you say and still small enough to be eaten by the other fish than they have already been horribly stunted by their improper housing.

yes, i must admit, sorry if i came around as a bit mad aswell on that reply, wasnt in the best of moods n that kind off made me go bit ott! lol x

i will try and get my grandad to see if he will have them, he has got some very large goldfish in their, and my sister is only 4, they are about 4 years old and the biggest is about 5 inches? ruffly around that. x

so if your child is a toddler, who does th water changes? who adds the dechlor? who does the feeding? who cleans the tank? i think you well know the answer, therefore its not the littluns tank, so move the fish out of that tiny tank. its pathetic.

yeah, get where your coming from, but who loves the fish?

i cant take something away from her thats something she loves, not yet. besides, if my grandad says its ok for them to be in the pond, then maybe she will agree to put them in, who knows? untill then, theres nothing more i can do untill the next time i see him x

take them back to the lfs. well tbh they shouldt have gone in there in the first place, they probably cant move.

why dont you get rid of them and get say 6 WCMM or something similar or a few neons and the littleun will be fine as you can say look they glow and make baby noises. it works everytime. In the lfs little kids always run to the neons just after they have spotted nemo.

mmm, yes, they have defo got to go, i know that. so grandads pond is my 1st option, lfs the 2nd.

minnows iv been advised on about 8-10...that ok?

will see what i can do x (just not looking forward to the telling she has to get rid of her fish part :()

come on people be nice :hyper:
i would go for the wcmm,s they are lovely fish mine have babys, easy to keep to

i have 2 blue rams ocming ,and its a 20gal minimum for them, sorry =(
