I have a approx 120us gal tank (5ft by 20" by 22") and have the following:

1 Blue Acara
2 Firemouths
1 Convict
1 Golden Severum
1 Blood Parrot
4 Silver Dollars
5 Tiger Barbs
2 BN Plecs
4 Panchax

Am i overstocked?

Could i add a chocoloate cichlid? or some bottom dwellers?

Also i am filtering at around 4.5 times the tank volume per hour ( sooing to be upgrading a Fluval 405 to a FX5 so will be significantly increasing that)

 I Think you are.

But im not 100% Certian Wait for a more advanced user to Reply thanks.

Sounds nice though.

Got any pictures?

I am not 100% sure, but if your fish are still on the smaller side you are probably ok for now, however, if they are bigger or fully grown then you are overstocked I believe.

I ran it through aqadvisor.com and it said that eventually your stock will require 129% of your tank space. Now I know that those stocking programs are not 100% accurate, but it does give a general idea.

by standard terms you are overstocked, but you don't have any overly aggressive fish, and with adequate filtration i think it could work. If a pair forms, that is most likely where you will run into problems. But like it's said over and over, cichlids are very hit and miss. Have a hospital tank ready :sly:

Oh and if anything just get rid of the silver dollars, they get pretty big and are super active, and you don't necessarily need dither fish. (unless you just enjoy them)

I think your on the limit, aqadvisor is good but only you know the terms of what your tank is like and how it is going to be in the future.

As long as you have adequate filtration and theres plenty of space as long as a pair forms etc youll be cool, my tank is at 118% with my recently added rummynose tetra's and the final discus to go in after chrimbo and thats my stocking done with.

I wouldnt say you were overstocked, looks about right to me, Id up the number of TB's too, because they are less ansty in a larger group. So long as your have no aggression problems with your cichlids, you should be fine as you are.

Think I agree with whats been said your close to your limit. What I would consider is whats been said about loosing the silver dollars and upping the TBs. As said watch out for your FMs pairing up but most things seem quite placid in there :)

Is it a true blood parrot or is it one of the common man made ones?
