okay my tank is showing normal levels as has been since it set up 2 months ago using 90% of the water from old tank and having run in a new external filter for a month before changing the tank but i have noticed over the last 2 days a large increase in the amount of algea . does anyone have an idea of a cause for this sudden bloom

thanks for the reply it would appear to be green spot algea but may just be dust . the flow rate is good being fed by ehiem 2216 pro2 at full throttle lighting is 2 t5 standard tubes which came with the vision 180 tank on for 5 hrs in 24 weekly water change of 25% planted well but no CO2

Green dust algae usually follows on from diatoms, so it can be expected at this time period

Green spot algae is caused by low phosphate, and raising the levels with potassium phosphate will clear it.
