Algae

my tank is situated in the conservatory so gets alot of light (even though it backs onto a wall) and warmth. my current tank gets alot of light green algae on the glass and when i use a magnet cleaner it looks like green dust in the water. a few days after cleaning its back and looks horrible..... would some phosphate remover in the external help? i think it i supposed to help with nitrates and nitrites dont really want to add chemicals into the tank if i can help it... any ideas would be appreciated.

im sure one of the boys has posted a sticky in planted tank section of the forum, you will need to ID the algae before treating so you may find something in there
