Algae<red>?

i was cleaning rocks and slate in my keyhole tank,moved the bogwood and noticed the bit witch sits in the gravel has red algae on it much like id have soaked it in ribena<blackcurrant odd ive scubbed it all of but was wondering if anyone new anything about this

Was it bright red or brownish red? I've had the brown algae, most newer tanks get it.
