I don't buy alibino of any species but always curious if home breeder gets an alibino off spring from a wc population.

That is a great question, the regular ones I had bred with the albinos, but unless you were very diligent the eggs were eaten almost immediately.
The albino cory I had kept were always more of a French vanilla, never the pale white like the one in the photo. Same with my albino BN, he was a nice creamy color and when he was in the mood he has a reddish spot on top of his head, lol.

I saw some Pelvicachromis subocellatus albinos in an auction once, so I bought them. I wanted the fish in its standard colouration, but it isn't easy to find. I bred and raised them and got about 40% regular colour. They were a short bodied P. pulcher, but I did get to see both forms in the one brood I raised.

So you would have a chance at a healthier colouration in the young. I imagine with a common commercial corydoras (actually a common Gastrodermus) the albino lines would be very set. That would really reduce your chances of a throwback, but not eliminate them.

People get touchy about scientific names in Latin, but I like the way the Latin corydoras has become English. Most aquarists around here will refer to one corydora as if the 's' on the same was a plural. It's cool how language works.
