no - they are not fish lol. the nutritional value is completely different from what they need. while they may eat them for you....it will not be doing them any good and they will get very malnourished
....and you absolutely can feed them with tweezers! it will really help get them friendly with people! if you feed them form the same corner each time it will help them find the food and it will get them to recognize you!

they do sell sinking reptile pellets which are fine! just make sure to buy the smallest size! :)

What happens if they go on to the slightly flooded
island I have, and then feed them will they still eat there?

to be honest, i do not know how that would work...as i said the hunt by scent and are scavengers...feeding them from the same corner in the bottom of the tank seems to have the most success from anything I have tried

You can feed them bloodworm with a turkey baster

I'll try that
probably better than tweezers as well.

Hillstream loaches are more of a fast moving fish. Here is a great article on them http://www.loaches.com/articles/hillstream-loaches-the-specialists-at-life-in-the-fast-lane
As for tankmates try a surface fish like rasbora, hatchetfish, or danio. maybe some bigger shrimp as they may be attacked. I suggest rasbora, they are soooo colorful under the right light. Also include half of flower pots for them to hide in. Also no matter what you hear GO FOR LIVE PLANTS! your frogs will be much happier than with fake plants. Also try some ottociclus catfish!
