Fish Fanatic
Hello all. Ill apologize up front for not having pictures as my posts can sometimes get confusing
Just re-homed my GT to a 75gallon bow front
Filtration -
15gallon wet/dry sump
25 gallon refugium.
-5g return
-10g refuge
-10g FBF (moving bed filter) K1 media
Math says 985gph, but to be realistic well call it 850 - 900. I know, not the best.
Tank -
75 gallon bow front (4 ft)
Playsand substrate
lots of wood and stone
Fish -
Single juvi male Aequidens rivulatus
This tank has been cycled for about 2 years now so thats not an issue. The issue is this guys a mess, a right mess. I overfeed him like its my job. And heres where things go awry. He eats alot of his food, Pellet, frozen, and his favorite, very small live baby guppies which i cant seem to breed fast enough for him.
What can i put in with him that will go well (with his current size) that can clean up the floor. I used to have a Gyrinocheilos aymonieri (chinese algae eater). Before i moved house, i had to send him up to the lfs at a whopping 8.3 inches!
The only reason it worked well was because he was the boss in the tank, but right now i would have to get a juvi, at about 2 inches in length.
Clown loaches are out i would have to say because they like to be in schools (5-6+) and get huge, require 6ft of tank or more.
I would just like to hear some ideas from you guys see what might be a good cleanup crew for him, as it stands i vacuum the tank (in tank vacuum, so no water loss) every 3 days or so.
Thanks in advance
