Adding Fish And Lights Off

I just added 4 new fish, 3, 4 striped damsels and 1 bi-color dottyback. I added them at 4pm, my lights turn for the night at 10pm. How long should I keep the lights off when adding new fish? I read so many different times from various websites. I usually do 1 hour off but I would like to hear from my people hear at fishforums.net

I generally leave the lights off for about an hour although there is plenty of daylight to be had by the fish. I'm not sure it's necessary for community fish but I suppose but it does no harm and might do some good; most of my new inhabitants go straight on with the business of eating.
