They do once the water is a little evaporated, they sound like a waterfall.

I think ill get an aqua clear and add an extension to the lip so it goes deep into the water so it wont be noisy when the water evaporates.

IMHO, the sound of the waterfall is one of the BEST things about these types of filters!

It's so soothing!

Couldn't you just add some water now and then?

Anyway... to each his own!
