I am planning to make albino platy by crossing platy and albino swordtail.
I know the oncogene xmrk located in X and Y chromosome in platy might cause tumor in hybrid if I am not careful enough.
I heard those tumor is melanoma and its progenitor is only macromelanophore.
So my question is whether platy's mickey mouse melanin pattern is based on macromelanophore or micromelanophore.

@emeraldking is your guy for this question:)
In platies it's micromelanophore. Sorry, I just saw this. Had other priorities concerning my health situation. So, wasn't much around on the internet.
In order to breed solely albinos from this crossbreeding, you need to do backcrosses in case one of the parents is a black eyed one. Therefore, it's usually the father being an albino. So, you can backcross F1 daughters to the father. Backcrossing sons to the mother is of no use, considering that the mother is still storing sperm packets of the father.
