Well, i went to see Mark Evans this afternoon and he kindly donated a couple of bits of Manzi to the Ian cause...well this sparked another re scape in the corner tank. There has also bee a couple more stems added to the tank, they are all small at the moment so they aren't in eyes view yet. They all sit at the back. Mark also kindly donated the legendary Hydrocotle that came directly out of Amanos tank in Japan. I will carry on the donation when it starts taking off...I will list the plants later.

heres the pics

LOL! I have no idea... haha.

When i first saw your previous scape i was gob smacked, i absolutely loved it! And this one i wasn't. Don't get me wrong it is still way better than what i could do (probably ever do) but it didn't wow me for some reason. the wood is awesome though, wish i could find a nice piece like that without having to pay a small fortune for it in a lfs.

That wood is INSANE!!!

That being said, I think cluster of wood is too far apart, placing the gap between the wood dead center of Mr. Trigon. How many pieces are in there? Long, stringy plants could be grouped together.

I'm jealouse, will sneak across the pond and steal wood. :ninja:

Dude you go through scapes like I go through hot dinners, (I'm poor lol) no seriously, prefered the scape how it was, now give the new wood to me for the Stream scape and put it back.

Anyway dude, looks cool, I hope it fills in nice as it looks a little bare at the mo.

I think Ian needs to share with those who are less fortunate.

right, the wood has had a bit of a move around...this is deffo the hardest hardscape i have worked with. I'm not giving up though!

thanks for the comments peeps.:good:

round 2 with the wood!

to me this looks better.

there are loads of stems behind the wood, that spread half way along the back. They are tiny at the moment, i shall get some pics up of the stems later :good: cheers Liz.

Much better Ian. It's hard because you have dismantled a fairly full and mature scape and replaced the plants with smaller ones so the effect is lost, but i can see this making TOTM when they have all grown up. :D

To take it back home? It came from the states in the first place. lol

I'm not sure if it is the photo angle, or just because its a corner tank but looks like there is sooo much space behind the wood to me.

In the older tank the plants behind made it look much better. Not sure if the hardscape was further back though.

Of this rescape I preferred the original than the second one. Don't like the angles of the wood in the second one. Its like a hand pointing to the front left corner!!

Have to see what happens once stems grow in the rear to see if it is just the new gorth that is making the hardscape look so far forward.

i have to agree Andy...it just didn't look right!

round 3!

well after playing for a couple of hours (ps i have learned not to be so hasteful!). I think i have finally got the wood just how i wanted it! lol. In fact i know this is how the wood will stay. With our new baby due in a week, this is how the tank will stay for at least 6 months to a year!
