A Test

Looks like the xanthic form of some kind of barb - cherry or checkered?

I couldn't resist seing if anyone had got it yet.

ok it is not a rosey, Schwanefeld's or an Everett's barb.
It definately has not been injected with any dye :grr:
and is not a rasbora of any kind.

the classification is barbus and there are two sub-species of this fish, although this is not one of the sub-species.

come on that clue really must give it away.

I'll post the answer in the morning.

My last two guesses - pentazona or ticto?

BTW, all my guesses have been based off your clues rather han the pic - except for b. pentazona as I actualy think the shape looks right for that one.

Tinfoil barb.

Maybe its photoshopped, and he made is fuzzy to keep us from guessing?
I know its not a tiger barb, looks nothing like one..

I have two guesses, either the golden morph of Barbus semifasciolatus, called Barbus schuberti, or a really pale Barbus pentazona pentazona (if you look hard, I can make out darker patches, but the photo is lousy). But I'm leaning more towards the first guess, the body type is similar. But I could be wrong, I'm no expert.

So its not a tetra, and its not a danio.
I didn't know wolf owned anything else :D

good morning all
I hope this wasn't driving to too nutty.

Silvia got it correct
it is a barbus pentazona.

this is a rareity as the dark stripes are missing
here is the same picture with a normal B.pentazona (click thumbnail)

I also got one that has only the stripe on the front and the back, all other stipes are missing, but I couldn't get a decent picture. Rest assured I will post pics of these guys when I do.
Thanks for playing

Hi Mate does it look anything like this ?
Barbus.jpg

:D Where'd you get it from? I've never seen one missing the stripes.
