I have kept Ellioti with angels (I think I have kept Ellioti with everything they are spread out all over my tanks lol)

Absolutely no way an oscar, even a small one, if you got a 2" one it would be 3" within a couple of weeks, they grow fast! Mine has gone from 2" - 4" in 4 weeks

do you think a really little oscar could work?

There is no such thing as a 'really little Oscar' O's get between 12-16", and they grow fast.

Honestly, the only cichlids you can keep in a 30g are dwarf species like apistos etc which have already been recommended to you. These are beautiful fish, full of personality, and are suitable for your tank.
