A Huge Shoal Project

i know they are cheap, but that would be perfect i could just buy 20-30 of em and then the tank has comedy little critters in it

the only place I have ever seen bumble bee gobies and I am very sure they were the freshwater ones, was at walmart... how odd is that?

One person I helped to set up a tank put 1000 neons into a 5X2X2, and it looked stunning. The best bit was that the fish cost him only £400, as he ordered a full box from the LFS, and thus they did him a deal. The LFS showed us the order sheet when we collected, and they cost them £100, and their value at RRP would have been about £1000, sold seporately. That was an amazing deal :hyper:
We only lost about 3 as well, which was increadibly good going, consideing they got to the tank direct from Singapore :good:

I love the rasboras you have seen  When you get your fish, ask the LFS about a week in advance about doing a deal on the ammount you want, and they may well supprise you

All the best
Rabbut

i actually found a site selling the rasbora so i sent them an e-mail enquiring about how many they keep in stock

failing that it will be smile sweetly in the lfs! :D

i have 3 rummy nose atm because 2 died, and they look great. their colours have finally started to come through, and they are stunning

they are funny aswell, when they get tired their eyes go purpleish and colours go a bit duller, and after a few hours without light they are floating around uncontrollably :S

great fish though!

I think you had a good idea with the rummy nose. I have six, and they are always swimming up and down the length of the tank, they never stop. I giant shoal would look awesome!

i sent an e-mail to internet aquatics enquiring about the fish i want, as regardless of where i get them i would have to order them as no one will carry the amount i want lol!

i got this reply

Hi Martin
Firstly, that's going to be a very nice tank!

Secondly, I'm very sorry to say that you've caught us at an extremely bad
time. Today is the day (with any luck) that we get an entry date for a new
shop in Edinburgh. This has stopped us putting any orders in for new fish
until we get ourselves ready in the new place.

Ordinarily I would have ordered your 300 microrasbora & the extra loach for
you to buy when you were ready, but the fewer fish we have to move when we
re-locate the better.

I don't know how far down the "set-up" line you are but we are probably
about 8 - 10 weeks away from getting back to normal. If you still need your
fish then I would be more than happy to oblige...the quantity would not be a
problem & a special price would be arranged too.

I'm sorry to be of such little help and, please, keep your fingers crossed
for us :)

Kind Regards

so basically they will do me a deal which is always nice, im not really against waiting if they will do a deal on that amount of fish either! i still need to pick up 50 odd pygmy cories at some time , might e-mail them again and enquire about wether they can get bumble bee gobies in for me as well. but in short i think regardless what i get they will be getting my business now :good:

Get about 1,000 neons and a few amazon leaf fish... that will keep them in a tight shoal. :hey:

HAHAHAHAHAHA that's a pretty sweet idea. Probably would work better with livebearers though, as eventually a micro-pred might finish off a nice portion of your shoal :(

what about.... red line torpedo barbs!!

That's what I'd do too....

This is similar to my predicament, I have a 48x18x18 drilled tank and want to do an extremely fast-flowing river too, accompanied by a sump. I was going to stock it with danios and GWCMM but I think I may go with emperor tetras and GWCMM and like 20 corys on the bottom. :)

That should be fun! :D
Never even heard of 'internet aquatics' before, while I work in a competing store, if it's close enough I'll be checking in there regularly.
