ok as is documented i had some wipeouts

so i have a 6x2x2 tank that i want to just do into a community tank, but with a twist as i dont want any fish over 3" in length

i want a big shoal as the centre peice of the tank and there are 3 fish im interested in which are rummy nose tetras, harlequin rasboras and mosquito rasbora.

once the tank is a bit more established i will add a shoal of pygmy cories

my female bettas will also be added to the tank there are only 7 of them though.

the filtration is an eheim 2180 and a fluval fx5

i will also be adding another overtank light once my suspension kit arrives :D

this is what i have so far

obviously i plan to plant the tank up but thats what i already had available and have set up today

so basically what im looking for is suggestions from people for what i should stock? im open to anything for the shoal ive just mentioned the 3 i like so far. also any other fish that fit in with what ive said already :good:

any suggestions greatly appreciated

I think id go for the Harlequin Rasbora

What's the volume?

i would go for a large shoal of ember tetras and some black neon tetras.

its 150 UK gallons or 680 litres which ever u prefere.

right now im leaning towards the mosquito rasbora i mean look at this fish

ember tetras may look good, i also need to decide how big my shoal can be because most people dont put small fish in big tanks the info isnt really there

i only want one shoal all the same species i want it to be striking because regardless of where they are they will appear to be shoaling.

anyone got any ideas on other fish?

a nice fish to look at would be cherry barbs the males are a vibrant red and the femails have te white bellies i have about 7 of them in my 30 us gallon tank and they stay around 2-3 inches

i have both cardinal tetras and rummy nose tetras in my 75 gallon. Both are stunning fish, but the rummy nose shoal together much much better. The cardinals just kinda hover around. they don't swim all over the tank in a group like the rummy nose.

The only drawback with the rummy nose is that I've had a few runts. They just haven't grown at all and eventually just kinda wither away to nothing. Not sure why, but its frustrating. I've lost like 4 or so in this manner. The shoal is still 12 strong though.

as it happens i was just looking at rainbow fish online!

but if i get any rainbow fish they will be as well as the shoal :D

what i ultimatley want though is fish that people would usually pout in nana tanks but they will get some space for once

i'll also have to keep that in mind about the rummy nose

Purple Emperor Tetras (Impaichthys kerri), very colourful. (can only dream of a huge shoal of them in a tank that size)

im thinking with the size of the tank coupled with the filtration and then the small size of the fish i want im thinking my shoal can probably be around 300 strong if i want?

im not sure but thats the theory im going with for now

i think whatever fish i choose it will look impressive lol!

just really unsure on the rest of the fish as well

300 purple emperors WOW! :hyper:. Not fare

lol well im not sure what to have yet to be honest but there will be pics when i get em  it will obviously be gradual as no shop is going to have 300 of anything in stock!

i know i want pygmy cories and having just seen them i was dwarf chain loach as well

but after that very lost :D

TBH do a HUUUUGE Shoal of Galaxy raboras, breeding them etc you might even make some money off it :D
