A Good Horror Movie?

Salems lot
Village of the Dammed

I agree with other comments regarding 80's horror movies, quite a few I watched were banned, they would seem pretty tame now days.

There's a few films I remember the plots but not the names (old age creeping in) :hyper:

Village of the dammed is a terrrible film. Couldn't wait for it to finish.

Stir Of Echo's not really a horror as such but is a really good film

The Messengers
Sixth Sense
Insanitarium
I Know who killed me
Shrooms (Very Very Trippy Film ! )
Vacancy
1408.. The one with the hotel room that no-one ever lasts in ? Amazing !

Stephen Kings IT...If you hate clowns do not watch it . i'm petrified of them everytime the circus tune came on the tv the pillow went over my face ! lol

Right I am off to watch messengers, i will let you know, trailer looks good though, thanks :)

I was talking about the original (George Saunders) not the Christopher Reeve one, which I watched the other day. Much better in black and white, more atmos I feel.

Never seen the film in black and white.
Glad you enjoyed it.

Watched
The Unborn
the other night.
It had some good creep out scary moments, and moments that make you jump.
But the acting, and editing in the movie is freakin AWFUL. I mean just bad bad bad.
I'd still recommend it though. It was a fun, scary movie.

I'd recommend Cannibal Holocaust. It's an extremely gorey film, and there are many vulgar scenes (this movie is banned 50 countries I believe), but it's a really good horror/ shock film.

Otherwise, I'm not to pleased with horror movies lately. I prefer to stick to the old B movies, like Night of the Living Dead, Creature from the Black Lagoon, stuff like that.

Although for some reason, I enjoyed Jeepers Creepers.

If you frequent the London underground you might like Creep - budget movie but good non the less.

My dad is in that movie, he's a film extra in the underground at the very beginning, but don't blink lol!

Hmmm not too sure about Cannibal Holocaust, sick but not scary. And the animals were really killed, not really a very PC movie lol

Lol Shrooms! Agree, it's very strange and trippy lol, awsome though :)

Great film, recommended, great twist!

Just bought mirrors on amazon. Sounds like a good film.

Stupid film but for some reason those mirrors actually freaked me out!

There's hardly ANY good horror movies at all

Pan's Labyrinth is fantastic not really horror, more of an adult fantasy but highly recommended
Really good ghost story is The Others

Oh, The Strangers - DO NOT BOTHER, it's TERRIBLE!!

Watched [REC] t'other day was very good, definately recommend it if you like zombie type films.

I hated this film, zombies are sooooooo irritating haha

Watched it last night and didn't rate it much.

Ordered 3 more horror movies will go and get there titles.

A Haunting - Meeting The Dead.
Next Door.
A Haunting In Connecticut.

I have now seen The messengers and room 1408, both really good. Although my b/f said all horrors are all the same lately.

I do love thrillers too, i like all the Saws, sick films but clever, always a twist.

The stephen king film 1408 is crap.
Never rated the saw movies either.

Just saw the movie
Martyrs last night.....
I'm still on the fence about this movie.

First... it is an extremely BRUTAL movie. It's not going to shock you w/ crazy ways people can die or anything like torture-porn horror movies can do, BUT it does have that gruesome gorey bits to it like torture-porn.
It's also a French film, so if you don't like reading subtitles, or don't like dubbed, then it's not a movie for you.

I dunno... it was an ok movie. Had the blood, gore, scares, twists etc, but a bit stupid w/ the ending IMO.
Someone described it as very pretentious, and I have to agree. Trying not to give anything away here lol. Don't want to spoil the movie.
I'd recommend it if you can stomach the more gorey brutal side of horror, but don't buy in to the overhype this movie gets.

Ah well still cool :good:

So did he / you enjoy it?

I thought it was a good movie actually, it really helps that the London Underground has been a big part of my life, so it means a lot more when you're a local watching a movie about something happening right near you!

I saw DRAG ME TO HELL this week - really good storyline, excellent in fact. Some daft moments but they added a bit of light relief to quite a heavy jumpy scary film!

1408 btw, wasn't crap imo but was very ANNOYING!!! Like a bad trip. It did my head in and I came out the movies feeling very stoned lol!
