I was thinking of feeding snails to my puffer to grind down my puffers teeth and I heard they love snails aswell. Never fed him or her with them.
I won't mind setting up a 5 gallon plant and snail tank that could just keep breeding and i keep feeding them to my puffer & other fish if they eat them. Yeah i always get the feeling that if the snails can slither and survive out of the tank, would they be able to breeth out of the water like the outside garden snails? Will they even come out of the water?
Now to think of it i won't mind setting up that snail tank, would i just need to put in 5+ snails and a plant, then to wait for them to lay eggs? Will i have to put in food? Also what temperature do they need to be at because do i have to have a heater and a filter?
Do Red Clawed Crabs eat snails?
Also could i feed the puffer outside garden snails with there being nothing toxic and safe for the fish, do these outside snails survive in water or only damp areas?
(I did have a 30lt setup with fish and snails appeared from the plants which i realized when they were small snails everywhere and was pretty exciting for me lol to have something other than fish in there, also these other type of pests start appearing which i researched, it looked like a shrimp but white and camaflauged a bit because they were stick type looking. I did a 100 percent water change and obviously taking out the snails (which for some reason that lettuce plan didn't work they wasn't on the lettuce not even one next morning). I didn't know at the time that there were fish like loaches; yoyo, clown ect. that could eat them. At the time i saw snails in the tank but on top of the water level, does that mean they can walk or more like slither out? Got me a bit worried even though it wasn't my bedroom the tank was in lol.)
