Usually if the fish become ulcerated and off their food you need to look to enviromental issues, check your tank for ammonia
A prolonged SALT bath (3-5 g/litre for several days) may relieve the stress in the fish.
Check for other signs of a disease ie. worm infections.
Basically prevention is better than cure in these instances, Perform proper tank maintenance on a weekly basis, cleanliness is the no1 priority.
Properly conducted waterchanges are essential also for fish health alongside a complete and varied diet to include dried, frozen and livefoods.
