Emmm....

Blackworms
Snails
Cockles
Muscles

Large predatory fish love whitebait and prawns, some of my fish even eat fillets of trout and whole sprats.

What fish eat potatoes, banana's and carrots  ??

A lot of types of plecos can eat squid and prawns. Krill, small river shrimp (i think they are called myasis shrimp or something) and artemecia are also good for many fish too. Livefoods like mosquito larvae are also great, chopped up earth worms are also good for certain types of fish too (mostly larger bottom dwelling predatory fish etc).

This is an interesting thread, but it would be better being more specific, or at least mentioning some important points. For example, some fish can eat certain foods but such foods are only good for the fish in certain amounts/quantities etc. I think you should write at the top of the thread something about certain fish onl,y thriving off certain foods in particular quantities, and that people should still thoroughly research their fishes dietry needs, as feeding the wrong foods or foods in the wrong quantities can have very bad consequences on the fishes health etc.

Par boiled potato is actually a really good food for plecs, but dont leave it in the water too long or it starts breaking up.

Edit: Ahhh! Matty P i just posted exactly the same saying as you at the same moment- spooky :wizard: ...!

Yeah just boil a large potato for about 5 minutes so its still firm and then slice it into 3-5mm thick slices for the plecs to eat
The rest can be wrapped in clingfilm and stored in the fridge till you need another bit.
