A Beautiful Cichlid Iam Recearching

So far i know of a few places now in medellin and the outskirts where people know some good spots to catch these, i plan once arrived and settled in medellin to start some trips to catch local fish including these.....we have some space were building some large tropical ponds so hopefully i can get some good threads going, hehe iam not there yet and yet i know all the hot spots<whats a hot spot not

nelly on the second link of the fish collecting things is sort of advertising fish collecting tours, does that meen someone from here can go there collect fish and bring them back to the uk?
how do you go about it?
i have wanted, for years now to go and catch my own tropical fish and bring them home but with all the certificates and regulations now i thought it was near impossible. but is it possible?

yeah i will definitely put some thought into it neil, would love to come visit and see what you do and see your tropical ponds etc once they are up and running (and full of fish!)
will have to sort it out once you get there and settled in.
the girlfriend keeps telling me she wants a holiday, kill 2 birds with one stone! haha

hehe sure dude, however hope she not exspecting two week booze up holiday like in spain,bit different there,obviously they have a great night life but its so much more of a holiday where you have to visit everywhere to make the most of it

i think both me and her are similar in the way we both prefer constantly doing something during the day and relaxing mid afternoon/night so it would be good. she could go off and do what she wanted as id have my head in the middle of a river somewhere haha.
no in all seriousness though i would definitely be interested once you are there and settled, would be good, and id have to sort out with some official guys about the licensing and exportation of fish!

haha if she likes shops then she can stick with my missus, my missus hates fish fish fish, but i know a fair few avid fisherman and folk who know some great hot spots and can locate a big aray of wildlife

So you are going down to south America to do your own collecting? That's on my list of things I want to do before I die. Or I would just be happy snorkeling in some tropical rivers and just watching the fish go by. Bringing them home would be cool.

I hope you find thoes sexy fish.

That would be a fun vacation. Maybe when my daughter gets older I would love to do this with her. My husband could go surf. We have some friends that live in brazil.
