Thanks bud, I share the same thought, in retrospect the HC detracted from the scape quite a lot, I'm quite happy with it now that I know what was bugging me. The E.acicularis will probably go as well and be replaced with some Crypts, I'm tempted to try undulata. After removing the HC I found a load of Cyano bacteria, so I removed as much as possible and now that the lighting and CO2 has been down graded it should rectify itself, the Ember Tetra's spawned after the water change also, so we'll have to see if anything comes of that!

You can see where the fin rot was, the webbing is growing back between the rays now so all is good.

Not a good day Yesterday our water pressure wasn't right but I did a water change anyway, then the fish started gasping, so I rang the water board and asked what was up and they told me they'd flushed the pipes, so I did a 50% water change with rain water out of my water butt and added a few ml's of 1mol Sodium Thiosulphate solution to bind any extra chemicals they had put in. When I woke up this morning I found the Ram dead and I've also lost 8 Ember Tetra's, the remaining are doing okay though, so a bit of a gutting day really but I'll be going to Wharf Aquatics next week so hopefully I can find some nice fish, they had a batch of the worlds smallest fish imported last week so I may get some to try them out.

So frustrating when Rams die, its always really quick an suprising too, sorry to hear.

It actually looks quite a bit cleaner and neater now, i like it. How comes your tank is on the floor lol?
