My 55 gallon planted tank in progress.
21 neon tetra
20 silvertip tetra
1 rubberlipped pleco
Below fish were adopted from 10gal tank only half full.... Medicated and now in big tank
4 glow fish (would never but but I adopted)
1 Rafael striped catfish
1 gold ram, was so sick. Finally getting color go back and stomach coming back.

fish especially tetras need shade and lots of hiding places. They come from South American Jungle stearms where there is plenty of shade. After all,in nature everything is trying to eat them
I would add some floating plants like anacharis or water sprite which you can plant in the gravel if you like and some ferns like Java and crested ferns. Here is a picture of my 55 gallon tetra tank, the floating plants are anacharis.
