50G Of Water All Over My Floor!

As some of you may know, Im currently in pain due to a slipped disc, which occured whilst lifting and setting up my new trigon 350. So I havent been doing much the last few days.

So today, I figured, I should at least try to do a water change on the 125g tank, easy I thought, pop the python in the tank, it will drain, then just re-fill - easy peesy.

So after draining half the tank (I always do 50% water changes) I wander into the kitchen to turn the valve and refill, only to find, that my sink was blocked and the water was flowing over the top of the sink ALL OVER MY FLOOR! Quickly turned the tap off, unblocked the sink, then took 2 hours or so to mop up the water.

Having nearly finished mopping the water, I hear these weird noises coming from my washing machine, which sits on the floor, under the worktop, next to the sink, several crackles and a nasty smell of burning electrics later, the washing machine packs up and I realise that of course, the water also spilled over onto the top of the washing machine and into its electrical parts!! One ruined washing machine, currently under warranty, so hopefully fixable.

Non of this has helped my back at all and for the hour I cried afterwards, I very nearly put all the fish and tanks up for sale as this trauma does not seem worth it!

The floor is drying out under the lino now and Ive calmed down and thought I would share my joyous day with you all as only other fish nuts could possibly understand what Ive been through.

that sucks. my week has not been great my fx5 had a slow leek due to the drainage tap which leaked water all over my floor. now sitting on bricks with a clover pot underneath until i can get my lfs to order me a new part or i might just cover in "just fix it". also just found one of four pictus cats floating not sure whether to replace?

OMG, you are going through the mill, poor you, and all this just because of your love for the fishes. Hope the rest of the year will be better for you.

though, i have had no, injuries. during one week, though not connected, i had an impeller go in my external. and both the washer and dryer packed up. i fixed the dryer, am still waiting for a replacement washer (i had forgotten how hard washing powder is on your hands, during hand washing.). fixed the external too.
oh, and the yard flooded and destroyed thousands of £'s worth of gear, for my special need kid.

sometimes, i feel like its not worth the hassle. then i look at my tanks. who am i kidding? of course its worth it.

It can and invariably does. Saying that, you've had your three bits of bad luck now, so you may get a short reprieve

oooo that sucks,i have been having a bad week to,my cpu got infected with a virus and so did i,but now we are both better,at least most of me is (i was trying to measure my stripped raphael catfish and completedley forgot to were gloves, and he stuck my thumb.)

also when i was doing a small water change i took out my microsword so i could get a better gravel vac,and then i forget to put it back in..... dried up in half an hour. but its not that bad because i might be getting narrow leaf chain swords later this week.

oh no I am so sorry!

But I am sorry to say it can get worse - I doubt the warranty will cover the repairs of your machine as it wasn't a fault, its "your" error

If you're insured you can claim on your house insurance - but I hope it isnt too bad for you when it all dries out

I wasnt about to tell the repair bloke that I spilled loads of water over it! Anyway I have a 'no matter what' policy on it, on an extended warranty and was assured that whatever they find wrong with it, will either be repaired or a replacement machine, fingers crossed.

Today, Im doing nothing, touching nothing, in the hope that nothing else can go wrong, although as already said in a post above, just when you think things cant get worse, they invariably do

But I didnt think you were about to admite you spilt water on the machine - but they can see whats happened - they'll no it didnt leak etc

Not cool, man. That must be a big downer. But don't sell your tank. I'm sure that you will be much more happy with them. Hope your back gets to feeling better so you can do some work on the Trigon!
