380l Community Tank

My ferts came today :D i got 500ml of tropica plant nutrition liquid, been advised its one of the best so i shall wait and see

Looking for some dwarf hair grass at the moment for a bit of a jungle/overgrown look around the easter island head, Also going to re-plant some of the plants around/behind him so hopfully you will just be able to see his face B)

Maybe co2 next month, seeing as its my bday i should treat myself ;)

wow, your tank looks amazing! and yay, co2! :hyper:

You shrimp looks fine, one of mine shed and it went blue-ish for a few hours after. Maybe yours just shed?

Thanks :good: :D I'm only thinking of co2 at the moment, depends on the ferts, if im happy i'll leave it at that

nah he's been blue for months now, always dark instead of white/clear. He is quite big though so maybe they get darker as they grow -_-

My amanos had a blue tint to them as well when they were in my old plant tank. No worries. :good:

Awesome looking apisto, too!

Still no luck with getting some dwarf hair grass  i usually get my plants from plants alive but they are out of it but greenline have it but its a bit more :X

Cleaned the spray bar pipes earlier and WOW what a difference! when i took them out they were basically black, now they look like new again ;)

Also no co2 yet but i found an old nutrafin CO2 kit laying around so i'm using that for the time being, its only for upto 75l but some CO2 is better than none right?

dwarf hair grass (that is actually quite tall!) arrive yesterday and some Normaphila Siamensis (blue striped stricta, not sure if this is aquatic or not? doesnt look it tbh)

heres a pic (sorry about it being wonky, even with a tripod i still get it wrong :look:  )

You can see all the plants floating at the top, thats the grumpus the bloody bugger! he decided he didnt like them where they are

I'm quite proud of this tank seeing as its all been done without CO2 and ferts (only bought ferts earlier this week and added very little CO2 the other day!) well other than root tabs.

I've a feeling im overstocked but i have 3 filters running on the tank and everything is fine in there so dont see the problem really :D

good news is the female is still alive and healthy :D

Was in my local maiden heads earlier when i saw the nutrafin co2 system for £15 instead of £20, so got another one of them along with some plants (anubias and hygrophilia polysperma??) and 3 female platties (one of my others turned out to be a male!!)

the ferts are wotrking really well, all the plants are looking alot nicer now :D

will update with pics soon!

Well it's been a while since i updated!!

heres a pic taken earlier (sorry for quality, off my phone got no batteries for the camera  )

Raj had to go back sadly, he was great just was eating everything small enough to fit in his mouth! Got a shoal of 20 neons now which looks great!

Couple of new plants and a tiny move around but not alot really! the crypt at the front has grown MASSIVE compaired to what it was! oh also have a L-18 in there, we've named him Brian. Seems to be doing well in there, been in there for around 3/4 weeks now :good:

.....what was your advise???

Also forgot to mention i got some reflectors for it today, but dont notice the difference!

Tank's looking beautiful mate, very nice job. I like your moai, where's he from? Also, your substrate, the black pebbly stuff, looks awesome. I'd say you could do with a really BIG bit of bogwood in there or something, just that in that big tank, nothing's making a dent in the space!

I think it looks really good! Personally, I would add some tall filler plants in the back. Something like Val or Amazon sword would look nice.

Thanks, i'm really happy with it since my last tank was terrible! big pirate ship in the middle, skull, divers ect   The moai and gravel are both from maiden head aquatics in Radyr, its made by aqua one iirc.

Yeah i want a nice bit of pointed wood in there and attach some moss onto it, but can't find anything suitable

My plan for the time being is to leave the middle of the tank as it is or maybe plant it a bit more but leave it at that hight and have some taller plants on the left and right to cover the heaters/filter intakes. Also thinking of having some sort of carpeting plant along the front, but i'm not sure if i have enough light tbh
