29g tank remodel...

As you guys probably know, my 29g tank used to be an Anacharis wreck...

(Trust me, when I trimmed today, there was wayyyy more than that! I got over 100 individual stems, ranging from 7 inches to 24+ inches)

There was way more in my 29g today, then there was in a while. In fact, there was so much, my poor neons barley had any room to swim. So I had enough. I went in and took out a TON of Anancharis. I also cleaned the sand, filter, and driftwood. I made a DIY floating plant separator and moved some stuff around. What do you guys think?

The java moss REALLY took off. (You can see all of it on that one section of my driftwood.) The shrimp really like it, which is good. My neon tetras now have a lot more room to swim and are actually playing with each other!

I know right? I mean, before, it was just like, "Oh, heres one". But now, I can see all of them! They are also a lot more active as far as swimming goes.

Thank you! I like the look of a "forest" tank, but I also like to see my little neons playing.

I try and leave at least 2-3 inches all the way across the front and a big open area for swimming. In my sunken forest tank it is in the center where the glo light and neon like to sit. But my anacharis is starting to reach its limit too and I am running out of places to put it especially since I picked up water sprite and now salvinia.

Yup, that is why I made the joke, we could always move to Colorado and open up a store selling freshly grown anacharis right next to a smoke and weed store. We would fit right in until someone tried to smoke or eat it.

You could also do here...seems like theres a pot shop every 2 blocks.

That is the sad thing about most small cities old down town. When I was young it was all these little stores with all sorts of things to see-toy stores, book stores, pet stores you name it. Now it is porn, pawn, smoke and pot shops and lots of closed empty stores.

Agree. thankfully my towns down town area is still nice with little antique shops and a bookstore and cafes. Some other towns nearby are totally different
