Why?

maybe because you'll need to do 25% water changes ever 2nd day of 50gal and the water needs to be right pH, temp and then the next load should be ready in 2 days

the most i do is a 75%... but that not every week... thats like every... 2 months?.... but i only do that on my gravel one, i remove the fish wilst i stir the gravel anyways...


my sand has to have a water change twice a week sick of seein poop on top of it!!

If you keep them in a proper sized tank then there is no need for water changes every other day, only people who try keeping large fish in too small tanks (under 150 gallon) need to be changing that much water. I have a 14" jardini arowana in a 200g tank and only change 35% of the water weekly, 25% on the weekend and 10% mid week.
