Im not going to get cichlids, and im going to buy all my stuff from my lfs, witch i went to yesterday and they have all the fish i want. thanks anyways

have you ever ordered from there? where are you from? the site doesn't show their shipping rates. and they dont have bolivian rams which is really what im looking for. a lot of their dwarf cichlids are wild caught too which is something i wouldn't want. thanks though.

It's a Brichardi Cichlid. Very cool looking fish! You are going to need to scrap the guppy idea all together. Too few males will fight, too many will overstock.

looks like you have to call them for a shipping quote. it does give a vague description sayin that shipping could cost anywhere between 10-125 dollars. i really don't understand why its so expensive to ship fish. i mean, i understand why it would cost a bit more but most websites are outrageous... even for plants!

Heat packs, quick shipping so they don't die, insurance, cost to fly it there ect. are what drive the costs up

I went to petco today... Did not buy a stand. 30 fricking bucks for a crappy metal stand. I'm going to check the lfs tomorrow. Stupid over-priced chain stores.

Make sure they are DWARF frogs. If not, they will eat your neons. I would suggest getting 6 or more neons. They need to be in shoals. It makes them feel more secure. 30 bucks isn't bad for a stand. Walmart wants 50 bucks for a 10g stand (bought a 10g the other day). I think I might resort to using a piece of furniture or a small dresser (the drawers can be used for fish stuff).

if you have any questions about the frogs, please feel free to PM me....I have been keeping both ADF and ACF for a very long time!
you want ADF - ACF is not compatible for your tank - they grow quite large and will end up eating every fish you have listed

ADF however stay quite small -
heres how to tell the difference
1. - if it says "albino" - stay away! this is an aCf no matter what the pet store tries and tells you, dwarfs do not come in the albino variety. dwarfs only come in varying shades of brown
2. - all 4 feet have webbing between the tows = aDf. if the webbing is only on the hind feet and the front feet have fingers = aCf.
3. the eyes! if they are flush in on the sides of the face = aDf. if they perch slightly on top like a common frogs = aCf.

aquatic frogs hunt by scent, not sight!!! which means that if you just dump their food in the water (and yes, they need their own food - they can not survive on fish flakes....they are not fish!!!! it is not suited to their dietary needs AT ALL) all the fish will gobble up the food and you will be left with hungry frogs.

best way to feed them (blood worms, black worms, brineshrimp - do not feed beef heart it is very fatty and will quickly clog their veins and kill them! - and avoid freeze dried food as a staple of the diet, it will make them constipated.)....is to use a turkey baster to squirt the food into the same bottom corner of the tank every night right after you turn off the lights. they will quickly learn to associate this corner with food and will head right over there at the first scent of food!

only fish I would ask you to keep an eye on is your dwarf gourami....the only gouramis I have kept with aDf is pearls due to their peaceful reputation.

just make sure you frog has plenty of little hiding caves to go to if he feels threatened. if he knows there is somewhere safe to retreat to he will feel safer coming out in the open
