After checking out the earlier post from Mayu on sexing Rams, I reckon the two that were fighting are male & female & the smaller one is also a male possibly - although that is only based on the blue sheen not showing through the black! Don't know if it helps or not???
They've been at it a little bit today apparently, but they all seem fine now. The third one is smaller than the other two & occasionally gets chased, but never for very long & at the moment one of the bigger ones is happily following it round the tank with no aggression at all. The two that were...
Hi all,
I bought 3 Blue Rams last Friday & have noticed tonight that 2 of them are acting 'a little strange' they don't appear to be fighting as neither of them are backing off so I assume this is a mating ritual? Please feel free to check out the video (sorry about the quality - it was...

Hi all,
I'm due to be upgrading my tank to a larger one anytime soon & was considering going from sand to Roman Gravel - I currently have quite a few happy MTS in the sand & was wondering if gravel would hinder them in anyway? (with the Roman Gravel being a small size). On a slightly different...
Phew - thought you knew me for a minute there  I'm thinking of maybe getting some of the laterite substrate to put under the gravel? i can always get more gravel if I need to - found a great place on the net selling Roman Gravel for £1.97 per 2kg...
I've recently bought a new (much bigger) tank & I'm considering going from sand to black gravel as a sustrate. The tank dimensions are 48" long by 12" wide by 18" deep - how big a bag of gravel would I need for it? I'm assuming that an 8kg bag would easily be big enough, but don't want to overdo...
