Yup, amazing fish African cichlids. He's a male and very dominant but not the most dominant fish in the tank, although he never really dulls his colours like most do, he's always really bright and showy

It's usually scientific names with African cichlids, I wouldn't know them from common names lol

Sorry for the late reply. I'd say he's about 8 inches he's in with a geophagus , red spotted severum and a breeding pair of Belem Severums . Never have an ounce of aggression from any of them even when the belems are breeding

Geo Brasiliensis are demon fish. Very aggressive with other fish and their own kind. I wouldn't recommend from personal experience

Update And more time has passed. He's still going strong and still my Baby and still a very peaceful Carpintis

Firemouths are A Holes ;) I have three Severums and they are very peaceful. I don't have plants because it's just not worth it also make sure tankmates are too big to fit in the Severums mouth ! They just see little fish as food and will swallow them up in one go
